Laparoscopic surgery is now well established in veterinary medicine and offers a wide range of minimally invasive surgical options.

The most commonly known laparoscopic procedure is the laparoscopic ovariectomy, the “Lap Spay” or “Keyhole Spay”. This is an affordable and exciting way to ensure your pet is neutered and back to normal within a couple of days!

The laparoscopic techniques open many surgical options, including:

• Laparoscopic ovariectomy (ovary removal – “lap spay”)
• Laparoscopic ovariohysterectomy (ovaries and uterus) & pyometra
• Laparoscopic retained testicle
• Laparoscopic ovarian remnant surgery
• Laparoscopic Liver biopsy
• Laparoscopically assisted gastropexy for giant dogs
• Laparoscopically assisted bladder examination
• Laparoscopically assisted organ biopsies

The minimally invasive nature of most of these procedures sees the patients returning to normal activity levels very quickly. The lap spay recovery is now only 48 hours before the can run off-lead as normal! The magnification, detail and use of vessel sealing technology internally mean the procedure is very quick and safe.
