- Laparoscopy: Experience minimally invasive surgery options with laparoscopy at Southwater Vets. This advanced technique reduces discomfort and recovery time for your pet while providing precise diagnostic and treatment capabilities.
- CT Scans: Our cutting-edge CT imaging services offer detailed insights into your pet’s health. From identifying hidden conditions to precise planning for surgical interventions, we use CT scans to ensure the best possible outcomes.
- Platelet Rich Plasma PRP: PRP is a forward thinking, effective regenerative therapy to help with conditions such as Osteoarthritis, Tendon injuries and joint inflammation. We use your pets’ own blood to produce a platelet rich plasma sample which is then injected into the effected joint.
Our surgeons carry out PRP injections at Southwater Vets.
How does it work: The activation of the concentrated platelets in platelet-rich plasma releases growth factors that stimulate and increase the number of reparative cells your body produces. This significantly enhances the body’s natural healing process. - Arthroscopy: This is a minimally invasive surgical technique that will introduce a small camera into the joint through a small incision. This enables us to examine inside the joint and perform surgery with minimal disruption to the surrounding area. The primary reason for undergoing arthroscopy is Elbow Dysplasia in young dogs, specifically those with fragmented coronoid processes (FCP) and cartilage damage on the medial coronoid process. The technology also allows us to treat OCD in the shoulder joint. The benefits to the patients is that a small incision site leads to a quicker recovery and far less pain. The procedure is caried out at Southwater Vets and the pets return home the same day.
At Southwater Vets, we collaborate closely with your primary veterinarian to ensure a seamless and comprehensive approach to your pet’s healthcare. When it comes to specialised referrals, trust our team’s expertise and commitment to delivering the highest standard of care.

What Our Clients Say
“I cannot honestly recommend Southwater Vets enough! My dog has to have an allergy injection every four weeks. Usually it’s a highly stressful experience for both me and her as she gets so upset and worked up.
“Naomi took her time to talk to me, to put me at ease, to fuss Lola and give her cuddles and love. Naomi managed to inject Lola with only a small yelp, with her still wagging her tail and then she gave her kisses and cuddles again after it.
“The experience was fantastic and I am so, so grateful.”
